The Earth Alive Marine Cleaner and Bilge Treatment formulation is a slight derivative of our Jan-San product, specially adapted to specific marine environments.

Earth Alive Marine Cleaner and Bilge Treatment is a versatile, multipurpose product that is ideal for such diverse marine tasks as cleaning oily decks, bulkheads and equipment, for treating the bilge to reduce hydrocarbon build-up, and for the treatment of marine septic systems. It can even be mixed with salt water.

 

This formulation contains a biologically active organic cleaner and decomposition agent derived from the forestry industry. It also contains a robust consortium of naturally occurring, non-pathogenic, hydrocarbon degrading microorganisms. A treatment of Earth Alive Marine Cleaner and Bilge Treatment on small spills and leakage will decompose the hydrocarbon contaminants before they can leach into sensitive waterways.

"As the Bosun I am responsible for all of the cleaning products on the Delaware 2. When I was approached by Earth Alive to test their marine cleaner, I was skeptical. I had over eight different conventional cleaning chemicals on the ship. Some of them were very nasty chemicals.

 

Over several weeks at sea, I tested the product on the bridge, main passageways, crews quarters, decks, bulkheads, stainless steel, shower stalls, and the BBQ grill. The lack of VOCs was greatly appreciated compared to some of the other chemicals we were using.

 

The decks and bulkheads were noticeably cleaner and brighter, and Earth Alive provided a nonslip surface on the decks—even when wet! Since we now have a nonslip surface, the decks can be done in active weather with less chance of people slipping.

 

As for all of the stainless steel in the research labs and the balance of the ship, the time and effort used to clean has been significantly reduced. Our current stainless steel cleaner costs us 20 times more, and Earth Alive is safer.
